Cooking Tips – to help you prepare nutritious clean meals

1. Get help.
If cooking is a chore then get the rest of the family involved. It is also a great way to teach the kids about REAL food.

2.Prepare the basics.
Keep chopped onions, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms in containers in the fridge. These are the basics for so many recipes and having them ready will save time.

3.Cook grains & protein in advance.
This is usually the most time consuming part of cooking so a couple of times a week prepare & cook brown rice, & quinoa. Bake enough salmon, chicken & turkey escallops for 2 days meals.

4.Get creative.
Try experimenting with different ingredients – you will be amazed with what you can create.

5. Use your herb & spice rack – or get one if you don’t have one.
You don’t have to know a million recipes. Use herbs & spices to add variety to your meals. The same basic stir-fry dish can be completely changed just by using different herbs & spices.

6. Use a slow cooker.
Just put a variety of meat, vegetables and stock into a slow cooker in the morning & let it cook away during the day.
