Motivation is a funny thing.

I talk about this a lot  as people are always telling me that they lack motivation.

We tell ourselves that we are going to go and do something

Then we hesitate, procrastinate what ever you want to call it,

and we wait for the motivation to get us going and get started.

But it doesn’t come.

So we end up not doing what we intended to do.

We’re more happy wasting time checking Facebook, reading emails, and just contemplating starting than actually getting going.

I have been teaching this to the ladies on my Invincible Coaching Programme who have the same problem.

Don’t wait for motivation just get started – take the first step then the motivation will come.

 

Just commit to getting your kit on or commit to doing the warm up.

Once you get started the motivation to continue comes.

Motivation comes AFTER action NOT the other way around.

So if you are finding yourself WAITING to feel motivated then you are going to be waiting a long time and will be wasting a lot of time.

You have to DO something not just think about doing something.

The secret is to make that first step a small one.

If you have been telling yourself that you are going to do something about your health and fitness,

about how you look and feel because things have been slipping

but you still haven’t done anything as you don’t feel motivated.

Then its time to change that thinking and take the first step.

That could be getting out in the fresh air and going for a walk

It could be doing a 10 minute home work out
(there are plenty online),

It could be signing up to join a programme.

So if you have been thinking about it then don’t hesitate. Take the first step and  find a programme and then apply to start.
